Our aim is to make shopping for babies fun and ethical at the same time.
Babi Pur is a family run business based on the edge of Snowdonia. Our Children are the inspiration for our products which is why the main theme is Fairtrade. Everything on sale at Babi Pur has been carefully researched to ensure that Fair trade standards and environmental impact are always the highest priority.
We have carefully selected the best quality gifts, toiletries, toys and clothing and brought them together in one place to make shopping easy. Some things are made locally here in Wales using natural ingredients and materials. Other products are made in developing countries and carry the Fairtrade mark, now an easily recognisable symbol.
Environmental
We have made every effort to ensure both us and our suppliers consider environmental issues. We try and keep our packaging to a minimum using biodegradable and recycled materials. The products we stock are made using organic cotton and sustainable wood. If you find anything on this site that does not conform to this policy then please let us know imediately and we will address the issue.
Ethical
All our products are from ethical manufactures. Some carry the fair trade symbol and others are from responsible manufacturers. Once agin if you find anything that does not conform to this policy please let us know imediately. We are a new venture and aim to become a member of the “British Association of Fair Trade Shops”.
Political
We are not a soapbox company but want to promote fair trade and organic products. Whether you buy them from our shop or somewhere else, fairtrade and organic cotton really makes a difference to peoples lives and our aim is to make these products more accessible. BabiPur is fast becoming a ‘one stop shop’ for ethical and eco friendly baby products. If you’re looking for organic baby clothing we have huge selection which just keeps on growing. We have clothing for children up to the age of 4 and we’re planning on expanding to provide older children with gorgeous eco friendly practical clothes. All of the clothes we sell are ethically sourced and most Fairtrade certified and carry the Fairtrade Foundation mark (that’s the one on the coffee and bananas) or the International Fairtrade association label.
We are very proud of our toy section which is still growing! We now have lots of Fair Trade toys, natural comforters, balance bikes, rag dolls and the popular cardboard playhouses. We’ve recently started to stock Plan Toys which are absolutely fabulous!
Washable nappies are a little passion or ours! Having used them on our own children and tested most brands extensivley we can provide you with friendly advice either over the phone or by email. Our customers love the Pop in nappy and we now stock the new Version 2 original Bamboo as well as the new ‘Dream Dri’ nappy.

The more we all buy fair trade goods manufacturers and big retailers have to change where they get their goods from meaning more and more people get a fair deal. None of us like to think about the men, women and children around the world who are being exploited. But it does happen, it is a very sad fact that we must take responsibility for as consumers. Buying Fair Trade baby products which are environmentally friendly is a great start and it also ensures that children like yours and mine have not been forced to work or kept out of school to provides us with cheap products.
Why Organic Baby Clothes? My baby doesn’t eat her clothes!
Your babies skin is much thinner and more absorbent than an adults. Cotton is one of the most sprayed crops in the world and the chemicals used on the crop and in the dyes is left it the end product that you buy. Organic cotton has none of these harmful chemicals and the fibres have not been damaged by these chemicals either. This makes for a softer longer lasting garment and you can be safe in the knowledge there are no nasty chemicals next to your babies skin.
The environmental impact of pesticides used on cotton farms is massive! Reduced soil fertility, frequent water pollution, reduced biodiversity in the surrounding areas and wild animal and livestock poisoning. By choosing to buy organic cotton clothing you will have a positive effect on the health of cotton farmers who would otherwise be using dangerous pesticides. The pesticides used to grow conventional cotton is very harmful as it contains dangerous chemicals. These pesticides have a very negative effect on the health of small scale cotton farmers in many countries.
